Yes. Retrocap is available on Google Play for Android phones (Android 7.0 or later) and on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later).

Does Retrocap work offline?

Who makes Retrocap?

Retrocap is developed by Apphicbytes and published by Appnova Enterprises Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom, with offices in Istanbul and London.

Is the original file kept?

Yes. Retrocap saves the repaired photo as a new copy, so your original photo stays unchanged in your library.

Features

Can AI colorize black and white photos accurately?

AI can add realistic, natural-looking color to black-and-white and sepia photos. Retrocap lets you choose a Natural, Vivid, Vintage or Cool style. Because the original colors were never recorded, the result is a realistic interpretation rather than an exact reconstruction.

Can I fix a torn or water-damaged photo?

Yes. Retrocap’s AI fills in torn corners, deep folds, tape marks and water stains by rebuilding the missing areas from the surrounding image. Results depend on how much of the original survives; areas that are completely missing, such as a lost face, cannot always be recovered.

How do I animate an old photo?

Open the Animate tool and choose a portrait. Retrocap turns it into a short video with subtle, natural movement, and you can add optional voice narration before saving or sharing it.

What resolution are the restored photos?

Retrocap saves restored photos in high resolution, sharp enough for sharing on screen and for printing at common photo sizes.

What is the difference between Enhance and Restore?

Enhance improves sharpness, exposure, color and resolution. Restore repairs physical damage, with options to fix scratches and tears, remove stains and enhance faces. Use Enhance for clean but blurry or dark photos and Restore for damaged prints.

Will the restored photo still look like the person?

Retrocap is designed to repair damage while keeping the person's features. When a face is heavily damaged, the AI has to rebuild missing detail, so always compare the result with the original using the slider.

Troubleshooting

Why doesn't processing start?

Retrocap's AI runs in the cloud, so you need an internet connection. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data and try again. Very large files can take a little longer.

The result doesn't look right. What can I do?

Try a sharper copy of the photo, photographed in even light without glare. For damaged prints, restore first, then colorize or animate.

How long does restoration take?

Most restorations finish in seconds. Processing time depends on the size of the photo and your internet connection, because Retrocap's AI runs in the cloud.

Can I restore a photo I took of a printed photo?

Yes. Most people restore photos by photographing the print with their phone. For the best result, use even light, avoid glare and keep the phone parallel to the print.
